four “goodfellas”, catchy rock´n´roll and lemons,
that was just the necessary to make The Lemon Lovers born, in Porto in 2012. Down on a basement during three long days “Hangover” (2013) has come to life!
This first EP gave The Lemon Lovers the chance to bring their bluesy rock’n’roll all around the country for two beautiful years! Many songs were wrote along the way and in 2015 “Loud, Sexy and Rude” comes out naturally as the first LP. Leaving the basement behind and with higher expectations this first album was recorded and mixed at Reno Studios in Madrid on a week in which Brais González mentored all the process. The mastering took place at Magic Garden Studios, in Los Angeles by Brian Lucey (Arctic Monkeys,The Black Keys, Chet Faker) bringing to the record what it just needed to be released.
“The 55” and “No Shoes” were the first two singles chosen by the band and both were directed under the creativity of Vasco Mendes. Within a few months after the album release The Lemon Lovers were invited to be part of the record “New Portuguese Talents 2015” produced by Fnac.
“The 55 Bus Tour” took the portuguese band in an adventurous journey all around Europe. By stepping over 30 stages in 9 countries in less than 40 days they had the opportunity to present they’re music to a wider audience and to grow from that demanding experience. A journey that came to an end with a new international tour of 10 dates, “Lost in Visegrad Tour” in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland over the first two weeks of March.
“Cosmic Lovers” is taken from the new album “Watching the Dancers”, entirely recorded and mixed on analog tape. The disc recording process on analog tape is characterized by capturing the sound source as a continuous signal in time. This method is nowadays less and less common and is almost abandoned since the arrival of digital but is a perfect fit for The Lemon Lovers, approaching them exactly to their essence and true sound. The new album was recorded and mixed by João Brandão, in Estúdios Sá da Bandeira, city of Porto.
It is crystal clear that The Lemon Lovers is a name to keep in mind and one of the living proves that rock´n´roll is alive.
